Dragon Con 2025 2 DragonCon.orgWelcome to Dragon Con 2025’m thrilled to welcome you to Dragon Con 2025. Thank you for joining us in making Labor Day Atlanta’s favorite holiday with your enthusiasm, love for the city, and love for the convention. The 39th annual Dragon Con is going to be better because you are here.We have decided to continue with an attendance cap on this year’s convention. Until another major hotel, complete with convention space, is built within our host hotel blocks, we will need to continue to control attendance. I remember the Dragon Con days of the past, when we wanted to share the convention with as many people as possible. While very exciting, we had to end that policy in 2019 at 85,000 fans. We love making new friends, but our commitment to the Dragon Con family is even more important, and we adjust our memberships to protect the fan experience. We hope you understand and enjoy the breathing room.I’m excited to announce that during last year’s convention, we met the company’s match for money raised for our partner charity. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to send the FULL company match of $125,000, plus your contributions, to the Arthritis Foundation. The total donated was over $300,000. We should all be very proud. This year’s charity is NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares. NAMI’s mission is to provide advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. Let’s show that we care about the vision and are willing to join in the NAMI mission. As always, Dragon Con will go first by raising the charity match to $150,000. Please, make us pay. It is our favorite expense every year.As you may have heard, Dragon Con has unveiled its official spirits partnership with Atlanta Hard Cider and Distillery and Old Fourth Distillery, bringing fans exclusive access to premium, locally crafted beverages that celebrate the spirit of the convention—before, during, and after the event. As part of this exciting collaboration, fans will be able to purchase Dragon Con Vodka from Atlanta Hard Cider and Distillery and Dragon Con Straight Bourbon Whiskey from Old Fourth Distillery. Each liquor is specially curated to capture the energy and creativity of the Dragon Con experience. These exclusive offerings join our continued partnership with Monks Meadery, who will debut a brand-new collectible can design for the 2025 event, adding even more flavor and flair to your Dragon Con celebration. Alcohol is certainly a popular Dragon Con pastime, but please drink responsibly. Take a moment to review the rules in this Program Book. These rules have also been posted on our website. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. If you see anything dangerous or downright stupid that could harm someone around you, please document it and notify our safety team immediately. We now have a direct line to Dragon Con Safety operations, where we have Atlanta Police stationed. That number is (404) 586-6343. You may also go directly to safety (room L405 - L406 on the Lobby Level of the Marriott) to report an incident. We have set up a private screening area, staffed by an Atlanta Police Department officer, to counsel individuals who feel they have been harassed. We will work closely with the APD to determine the best course of action. Additionally, the Marriott will again man the direct line for their security department if dangerous behavior is observed while in their hotel. That number is (470) 374-9152. The Marriott line can receive both texts and calls.Once again, welcome to your Dragon Con! You, the fan, continue to be the very best part of the Dragon Con Universe. Be kind to one another. May we meet again.
Atlanta, Georgia 3 Aug. 28 – Sep. 1, 2025Welcome to Dragon Con 2025 General InformationCharityAt Dragon Con, we raise money for our designated charity throughout the convention via auctions and other events hosted by your favorite tracks. These funds are donated to a designated charity that is selected at the beginning of the Dragon Con year in January.Organizations selected in the past have represented a wide range of community services, including support for families facing lupus, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes and heart disease, assistance for the homeless, community food banks, educa-tion, and libraries.Dragon Con is committed to helping the community through raising funds and providing a dollar for dollar match of $150,000 for the 2025 show. The Official 2025 Charity PartnerNAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI works to educate, support, advocate, listen and lead to improve the lives of people with mental illness and their loved ones.Blood DriveRobert A. Heinlein — the man who started the tradition of science fiction convention blood drives at MidAmericon back in 1976 — believed very strongly in blood donation and in giving to the community in general by, in his words, “paying it forward.” In addition to a lifetime of writing, this is part of the marvelous legacy he left us.The success of this drive is a reflection of the wonderful generosity of the Dragon Con community and a fitting tribute to the man who gave so much of himself to his sci-fi family. If you’ve ever enjoyed the Grand Master’s work as we have, thank him by “paying it forward” in the way he would have appreciated the most: Join us at the Hyatt on the Conference Room Level on Wednesday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00
Dragon Con 2025 4 DragonCon.orgGeneral Informationp.m., Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and on Monday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Each donor receives a special Dragon Con blood drive T-shirt and a chance to win other cool stuff!Dragon Con SuperheroesThe Dragon Con Superheroes is a community service project team for our members, volunteers, and staff to give back to our local community. Since 2014, Dragon Con Superheroes have contributed more than 4,300 hours to Atlanta-area non-profits.Projects have included packing and sorting food items for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, maintaining trails at Sweetwater Creek State Park, working the Walk to End Lupus Now, building community gardens with the ACFB, supporting the Lymphoma Walk, cleaning and spreading mulch in Piedmont Park, a school supplies drive and back-pack packing event with For the Kid in All of Us, a toy drive and bingo event with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, delivering more than 8,500 books to Literacy Action and supporting their Friends and Family day, giving a woman’s shelter a top-to-bottom spring cleaning for Partnership Against Domestic Violence, hosting a booth for athletes and families with the Special Olympics of Georgia, packing books for Books for Africa, and donating supplies for and filling hundreds of support bags for CURE Childhood Cancer. In all, over 400 Dragon Con fans and their family members have volunteered on the Superheroes projects.Disability ServicesDragon Con supports equal-access and provides on-site assistance for anyone who has a disability. Please be sure to stop by the Disability Services room in the Courtland Grand, now located in the Capitol Ballroom South, if you need any assistance. Dragon Con seeks to do its utmost to provide equal access to its participants with disabilities in accordance with State and Federal Law. Due to the convention’s limited resources, convention staff may be required to discuss your reasonable accommodation with you in order to attempt to meet your needs. Seating is limited, and is available on a first come, first serve basis. We ask that you be cooperative, and prompt for seating times for events you would like to see.Dragon Con Mobile AppThe Dragon Con app is back and returning to iOS, Android, and mobile browsers. Download your app from the the App Store or Google Play Store today by searching for “Dragon Con.”Daily DragonThe Daily Dragon is your official source for Dragon Con news and updates leading up to and at the convention. Available each day of the convention at the information booths, registration desk, and in the fan track rooms, the Daily Dragon covers schedule changes as well as publishes articles and party announcements. The Daily Dragon is also updated live on the web at https://daily-dragon.dragoncon.org/ Dragon Con TVDragonConTV (alternately DCTV) is an in-house video production and television studio run by volunteers as part of Dragon Con. DragonConTV broadcasts original content, fan-submitted content, and live coverage of con-vention guest panels and performances. The broadcast is viewable during the convention on the five host hotels’ in-house television channels, and online. Content is also viewable on-demand after the convention via streaming membership.Over the years, DragonConTV has become known to convention-goers for its parodies of popular culture and of Dragon Con culture itself. Volunteers produce new content for the convention each year, including “produced segments reporting on con events, parody music videos, skits, and a bevy of bumps.” This content, along with a selection of previous years’, is played in between guest panels at the convention and on the streaming broadcast.

Our Information Desks are located in the Hyatt Regency Atlanta at the base of the escalators just outside the Centennial Ballroom; at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis on the Marquis level; at the Atlanta Hilton Towers on the second floor between the elevators and the Grand Ballroom; in the Courtland Grand Hotel in the lower lobby outside of Badge Pick Up; in the Westin Peachtree Hotel on the 6th floor; and on the first floor of the AmericasMart, Building 3 outside of Gaming. They’ll have the answers to all your questions!Special Convention BadgesDuring the course of the convention, you are likely to see various individuals running around with a colored stripe on their badges. Just for clarification, we thought we’d let you know what they all mean:GUEST OF HONORGUESTPROFESSIONALSENIOR STAFFAREA DIRECTORVENDORARTISTPRESS/MEDIAETERNAL MEMBERVOLUNTEERConvention Policies & SafetyWe pride Dragon Con on being a safe place, where every-body is welcome and anybody can be whomever they desire. Even so, certain kinds of offensive or harassing behavior are not tolerated. It is very important that if you are being harassed or are in any way endangered, you report it immediately. We cannot address anything that we are not made aware of and we need whatever detail can be provided, such as names, badge numbers, or other descriptive information. If you feel you have been harassed please find the nearest Dragon Con volunteer. Every year, all 2000+ Dragon Con volunteers will be easily recognized by their brightly colored lanyards that say “Volunteer.” They will direct you to Safety Operations in the Marriott. If, at any time, you feel that your personal safety or the safety of others is in jeopardy, please contact the Atlanta Police Department in an emergency via 911. The Atlanta Police Department non-emergency phone number for Zone 5 is 404-658-7830.You may also go directly to the Safety Operations room, L405-L406 on the Lobby Level of the Marriott – to report an incident. We have a private screening area, staffed by an Atlanta Police Department officer to counsel individuals who feel they have been harassed. We will work closely with the APD to determine the best course of action. As a member, if you see someone harassed or taking inap-propriate photos (where the target of the photo is unaware), we encourage you to speak up and say something. As a community, we need to come together, look out for one another, and make sure everyone is treated with respect.Convention Rules1 You must wear your membership badges at all times to be admitted to any Convention function. In other words, yes, you have to wear your steenkin’ badge! Unless you’re 6 years old or younger. And then you don’t need a badge because Dragon Con is free for little nerdlings. Safety will be looking for badges on everybody else, though. To avoid being asked if your child is under 7 you may pick up a wristband in Registration, however, this is not required. And, if you’re old enough to have a driver’s license, then you can roam the halls of the Convention by yourself. We expect that you’re old enough to behave and follow the Convention policies, or suffer the consequences if you get busted. But, children under the age of 16 need to keep a parent (or guardian) nearby at all times. If you lose your membership badge, you will have to get a replacement badge, and we have requirements to replace your badge. You cannot give or sell or transfer in any way your badge or membership to anyone else.2 Possession of alcoholic beverages by anyone under 21 years of age is grounds for expulsion from the convention without a refund. It’s, like, the law, eh?
Atlanta, Georgia 7 Aug. 28 – Sep. 1, 20253 Please keep all behavior that polite fans would find offensive in public in your hotel rooms.4 We’ll offer sympathy, but neither Dragon Con nor its personnel are responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property, or for injuries sustained during the course of the Convention.5 Announced events and guests are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice. Every effort will be made to announce any changes via the Internet, pre-Con-vention publications, and our onsite newsletter, but some-times last-minute changes will occur.6 We reserve the right to ask you to leave the Convention and refuse to refund your membership money if you are behaving – in technical terms – like a jerk. Harassment of any kind, including physically or verbally threatening, annoying, unwelcoming attentions, stalking, pushing, shov-ing or use of physical force; which in any way creates a disturbance that is disruptive or dangerous, as well as any boisterous, lewd, or generally offensive behavior or language, using sexually explicit or offensive language or conduct, or profanity, obscene gestures or racial, religious or ethnic slurs will be considered harassment. If people tell you “NO,” your business with them is done. If you continue to attempt to have contact with those people, you may be removed from the premises and your membership revoked. We have more to say about Harassment below.7 Dragon Con has a clear *no weapons* policy for the entire Convention that will be enforced. All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded. No functioning pro-jectile weapons – including water pistols, silly-string guns, and ping-pong pistols. Bladed weapons must be cased or sheathed at all times. No clowning around or showing off in the common areas. Any weapon used in an offensive manner will be confiscated and Rule # 9 enforced. We expect you to use good judgment; with your help, we can continue to allow peace-bonded weapons – thanks!8 Real firearms are not allowed at Dragon Con. This includes those attendees who maintain a Georgia Weapons Carry License or a similar permit from another state. Dragon Con Safety, hotel security, and local law enforcement officials will treat anything that looks like a real weapon as a weapon. Attendees who choose to ignore this policy may be asked to leave the Convention and will have their membership revoked. Since violators can also be arrested, you should know that Dragon Con does not post bail. (Sworn law enforcement are excused from this policy.)9 NO CAMPING IN THE HALLS OR LOBBY! If you are found sleeping in the public areas, you will be asked to go to your hotel room. If you do not have a room, hotel or venue security will be forced to ask you to leave.10 Please do not abuse our hotels or convention facilities. This includes putting signs on walls. Public locations for notices are provided. Room Parties and other announcements may also be dropped off at our Information Desks for inclusion in the Daily Dragon. Please don’t eat the facilities; we’d kinda like to do this again and under a roof.11 It is against the rules of the Convention and all hotels to place or hand out flyers/cards in our/their space. Fly-ers/cards on an open table in the convention area will be cleared to a trash receptacle. If you are handing out material in an unauthorized Convention area, you will be asked to stop. If it continues, you will be removed from the Convention.12 You will have to pay for any and all damage you cause to Hotel or Convention property. And if you cause damage to a Hotel or Convention property, or maybe even other Members’ property, you may lose your Convention badge and forfeit your Convention membership.13 Costumers: remember that no costume is NO costume, and there are public nudity laws in Georgia. Please wear appropriate (or at least enough) clothing in the common areas.14 If you think you can make money doing it at the Con-vention, it’s probably not allowed unless you have written permission from Dragon Con. That is especially true when you’re taking pictures or video or making audio recordings of the awesome stuff and people at Dragon Con. Or, as our lawyers like to say…All Dragon Con members and attendees at the Dragon Con Convention are prevented General Information
Dragon Con 2025 8 DragonCon.orgGeneral Informationfrom taking, recording, or creating film, or digital pictures, videos, tapes, sound recordings, or any other visual or auditory recreation of any kind whatsoever, of any Dragon Con guest, member, volunteer, or employee, or of any Dragon Con event, including but not limited to the Dragon Con parade, any Dragon Con forum, seminar, session, dance, or performance, for any commercial use, or for the solicitation of funds for any commercial or other purpose, without the express written permission of Dragon Con, Inc.15 What’s more, only our Walk of Fame guests are allowed to sell photographs made at the event. If you spent all year building the perfect costume, please give freely when people want to take pictures of you. Be proud of what you accomplished, but not so proud that you demand or accept payment, tips, or donations. It’s just the way things work around here.16 We love all the great pictures that our fans take at the Convention, and we’ve seen some really creative ways of taking photos, too. Still, if everybody at the Convention brought a selfie stick, we would have a big problem. Like your mom always told you, you’ll poke an eye out with that thing. And that would be unfortunate because dressing like Nick Fury, Slade Wilson, or Leela is only fun on Labor Day weekend. So, please leave your selfie sticks and other hand-held extenders for cameras or mobile devices at home. If you still want to get a picture with that guy in that awesome Mad-Eye Moody costume, ask a friend to take it. Or ask a stranger. And if you still want to take a selfie, it’s cool with us. Just use your arms.17 We love seeing and hearing you. So much so that we may use all pictures or recordings taken of you. But we won’t pay you anything for using any picture or recording of you.18 No devices, no drones, no lighter than air objects, either powered or un-powered, may be flown, tethered, released, or deployed at any event, common space, lobby, Vendor Hall, meeting, or function room at the Convention.19 Ballrooms will be cleared between each panel. As we have limited space, we ask for your cooperation and assistance with the following: Please listen to our volun-teers and hotel staff when forming lines (They have done this before and generally have reasons for what they are asking you to do.). “There can be only one” (line) – please do not start your own line for any event or form multiple lines for the same event. Any such lines will not be honored and you will be sent to the back of the official line started by our volunteers. The line for the NEXT panel can start forming only after the line for the CURRENT panel is inside and seated. **Exception(s) – you may start lining up two hours prior to the FIRST panel of the day or in the unlikely event that the ballroom does not have a current panel, you may start lining up once the last panel to use the ballroom is seated. In either of these cases, we may start seating early, please make sure and check the schedule and updates. Please be considerate of others and do not break in line. If you are pointed out we will send you to the end of the line. Please be considerate of those needing special assistance and allow them access to the areas set aside for them. Please do not sit in seats or areas marked for their use. Please do not run, fly, or teleport to your seat.20 Dragon Con reserves the right to revoke or suspend memberships and badges. If you break a Convention rule, you may be barred from the Convention, either for several hours (to sober up, perhaps) or for the rest of the Conven-tion. If you break the law – city, state, or federal – you may be arrested. If you have been accused of harassment and feel that you were treated unfairly you may appeal to the Convention chair, but that decision will be final.21 Most importantly, Have fun – this is Dragon Con.
